It’s safe to say if Christopher Walken had gotten the role of Darth Vader the character would be much different than it is now. Hell, his portrayal might have sunk the film in its first installment! Still, it’s funny to hear what I suppose in some alternate universe could have been with this old video recently uncovered by Reddit. This guy mostly freestyles lines in a way that Walken would, but the lines he delivers are golden! I need someone to dub this into actual scenes with Vader from the film!
Clive Owen has a penchant for starring in short films with incredible production value from well-known directors (see: The Hire series for BMW Films), and now he’s added another one to his resume. Killer in Red is a short that comes from Paolo Sorrentino, the filmmaker and creator of HBO’s meme-friendly series The Young Pope. It’s essentially a commercial for Campari liqueur, but it works as a slick modern noir that left me wanting more from this stylized world and its mysterious characters.
That much I think we can all get behind! Yet Lady Maria is considered a boss in Bloodborne I just don’t get it. You swing one sword at somebody and all the sudden you’re a villain…read more on GameTyrant
If you’re like me, you read that headline and immediately began racking your brain to think about how this works with Firefly. It’s not a Firefly project. According to Deadline, Serenity is a thriller in which Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway take part in a story about a boat captain’s past and present colliding on a small island in the Caribbean. With a description like that, it’s hard to tell exactly what we can expect from this film. To throw an additional curveball in there, Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, is set to direct the film. It’s safe to say we have no idea what this combination will create!
What we do know is that roping in big talent like McConaughey and Hathaway (who appeared together in Interstellar) seem to be a big vote of confidence for a film like this! We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about the project!
This whole video was as jarring to watch as it was awesome. Don’t get me wrong, the 3D work in this video recreating the original opening to the Pokemon anime is phenomenal, but it’s just so weird to see it outside of its original style! It almost reminds me of that old Cartoon Network show ReBoot, but the animation is slightly better. Would you watch a Pokemon series like this?
It appears as though Wonder Woman will be assembling a ragtag team of her own during the Great War. Comicbook reports that the photo shown in Batman v Superman is now more relevant thanks to a recent interview with actor Ewen Bremmer. In the interview, Bremmer states that while Wonder Woman will be involved in WWI, it looks like a bulk of the film will feature an ensemble special forces unit led by the heroine…
“I play a character who’s enlisted by Wonder Woman to help save the world as part of a small, unlikely band…He’s a shell-shocked soldier who’s been discharged from the war and is brought back to help on a secret mission.”
Obviously, this means that WW and crew will set off on a mission to directly confront Ares and turn the tide of the war. While we knew that Wonder Woman and Ares would come face to face in the upcoming film, it’s interesting to hear she’s going to have a team of sorts to help her along the way! I think that’s a good change of pace that adds the potential for a greater dynamic and more opportunities to grow Diana’s character as the story progresses. Can anyone really say they’re upset by the fact that Wonder Woman may not be tackling this problem solo?
Marvel concept artist Andy Park has released a few new pieces of concept art that he created for James Gunn‘s Guardians of the Galaxy. They feature some radically cool early character designs for Star-Lord and the Nova Corps. The designs are very different from what Gunn and Marvel ended up using. I like really the look of the pirate scavenger Star-Lord design and the Nova Corps design kinda reminds me of the Cylons from Battlestar Galactica.
You can see the art below, which also includes a few little notes from the artist. Take a look at the designs and tell us what you think of them. I personally love the designs that ended up being used in the film, but these are still pretty rad.
If you enjoy those wacky and weird trailers from Aldo Jones, you’ll love his latest weird trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming. If features past Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, along with special appearances by Batman, Harley Quinn, and more. There are also rocket-powered farts! I enjoy the unpredictable ridiculousness of these videos, and I hope you enjoy this one.
Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the minds behind The LEGO Movie, the Jump Street film franchise, and a bunch of other ideas that seem terrible on paper but they somehow turn into creative gold, have begun filming the Han Solo origin movie for Lucasfilm. Miller took to Instagram to let Star Wars fans know they’re underway:
In case you can’t see it, the caption says “Han First Shot,” a play on the now-infamous Han Shot First debacle. And that working title is pretty great, too. Red Cup…Solo…get it? That’s the kind of goofy humor the duo is known for, and when this production wraps, I’m guessing this will result in the funniest Star Wars movie so far.
Alden Ehrenreich stars as the titular smuggler, Donald Glover plays a young Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson plays Han’s mentor (Garris Shrike), and Game of Thrones’Emilia Clarke also stars. Oscar nominee Bradford Young (Arrival) is shooting the movie, and it arrives in theaters on May 25, 2018 (though there have been some recent rumors it might bow in December of 2018 instead).
