Joe Manganiello has shared the first official photo of Deathstroke from his surprising big screen debut in the post-credits scene of Justice League! This is our best image of the character that has been released yet.
Deathstroke was originally supposed to appear in Ben Affleck‘s The Batman movie, but Warner Bros. recently announced that he will be getting a solo film. That solo film will most likely end up being directed by Gareth Evans (The Raid: Redemption, The Raid 2), which means this film is going to be ridiculously hardcore! I’m excited to see what he ends up doing with it!
The character was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez and he’s a mercenary and assassin who was genetically engineered to surpass all human limits, once a soldier, Slade Wilson now works as one of the most feared assassins in the DC Universe. He made his first appearance in The New Teen Titans #2 back in 1980.
The Brave Little Toaster is NOT for children. At least, that’s what this video alleges anyway as Channel Frederator makes the cast for the beloved animated film of the late 1980s. I personally don’t agree and think it’s a great film (albeit not my favorite kids film) for all ages, but I’m not really a cartoon expert. Hear them out and let us know what you think in the comments.
OK Go, whose relevance in music solely seems to rely on crazy ass music videos at this point, just found relevance again. Using a ridiculous amount of printers, and likely a small fortune of ink, these guys make an amazing display as they sing their new single “Obsession” for the wonderful people of the internet. See their latest masterpiece below, and feel free to berate me for questioning their relevance in music in the comments below.
In a feat one would only think is possible by a modern-day Legolas, a man has resurrected the lost art of turning arrows while shooting! This means shooting around corners, targets, people…you name it, and it’s just like the movie Wanted except with arrows and it’s not terrible. Check out the technique below, and give some love to Geekologie for sending this our way!
When it was announced Pokemon would be releasing a companion app to Google Home and Alexa that would turn the assistant into Pikachu, many wondered what use it would have. Now, thanks to this Japanese video, we know the answer is for stress relief. I gotta admit it’s pretty cute to hear two random Pikachu go back and forth! Check it out below and let us know your thoughts.
The holiday season is quickly approaching us which means you may be tempted to leave your 8-year old kid at home while you fly off to celebrate in Paris. Before you do that, please make sure your child is well-versed in the art of making booby traps! Also, know what those traps can do before they are set. Don’t just blindly use a trap and pray that it will work. So which traps should you set? Well, Vsauce and his friends do some experiments to show you what 3 traps from the holiday classic Home Alone would actually do. They test the hot door handle, the paint can to the face, and the crowbar to the chest with devastating effects. I love videos like this that go through the actual science behind something, and this video goes the extra mile and actually tests them.
Note: GeekTyrant does not condone abandoning your children, nor does it condone the use of any deadly traps.
Dustin is my favorite of the four boys in Stranger Things. He always wants to do what’s best and wants to help his friends. That being said, he did some really dumb things in Season 2; all of which seemed to revolve around Dart. When Dustin meets Dart, Dart is just a tiny little pollywog that likes to eat nougat. Dart is then introduced to the rest of the gang and even after Wil mentions that Dart is something from the Upside Down, Dustin still wants to keep it as a pet. Dart quickly grows into a slug and then a demodog that eats his cat and tries to kill everyone. If you want to try to train your very own demodog, but don’t want your cat to get eaten, don’t worry. Funko has your back. In the spring of 2018, Funko is releasing a nesting plush doll of Dart that will include his pollywog, slug, and demodog forms. I’ll admit, these are pretty cute, especially since it can’t open up its terrifying mouth and all three forms have been given a more playful color palette.
If you want a real demogorgon, Funko will also be releasing a Pop figure of the creature from Season 1 at the same time along with a Pop figure of Dart that is closer to the show and not nearly as cuddly. Keep an eye out for when pre-orders become available because I’m sure they’ll go quickly.
Maybe you’ve seen The Mummy, maybe you haven’t. In either case, all you need to know before getting into this hilarious video is that Tom Cruise lets loose one of the oddest screams you’ll ever hear in modern cinema. Trailer Blend liked it so much that they incorporated it into a bunch of other classic films, and the result is astounding. Check it out below.
Weta Workshop has released an awesome featurette for Thor: Ragnarok that takes us behind-the-scenes showing us the incredible work that they did in helping bring Taika Waititi‘s film to life. It’s so cool to see some of the costumes and weapons that were used in the film being built. The amount of care and detail they put into everything they did is super impressive.
The video also feature interviews with some members of the Weta crew who helped bring all of this stuff to life. One of the things they make a point of mentioning is the crazy colors used in the film to pay tribute to Jack Kirby’s amazing comic art. One of my favorite aspects of the film was how much of the design was influenced by Kirby.
We have our first trailer for Warner Animation Group’s film Smallfoot. It flips the legend of Bigfoot on its head and tells it from the other perspective. Instead of parents taking their kids camping and scaring them at night with tales of Bigfoot, yetis tell campfire stories about Smallfoot to scare their children. The trailer looks like it has potential to be a fun movie for the family and I’m excited to see more trailers so I can better gauge my interest.
An animated adventure for all ages, with original music and an all-star cast, “Smallfoot” turns the Bigfoot legend upside down when a bright young Yeti finds something he thought didn’t exist—a human.
News of this “smallfoot” brings him fame and a chance with the girl of his dreams. It also throws the simple Yeti community into an uproar over what else might be out there in the big world beyond their snowy village, in a rollicking story about friendship, courage and the joy of discovery.
Smallfoot will star Channing Tatum (Magic Mike) as Migo the Yeti and James Corden (The Late Show with James Corden) as Percy (the Smallfoot). It will also have the talents of Zendaya (Spider-Man Homecoming), Common (Suicide Squad), LeBron James, Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Danny DeVito (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Yara Shahidi (Black-ish), Ely Henry (Mean Girls), and Jimmy Tatro (22 Jump Street) to help round out the characters of the movie. Karey Kirkpatrick will direct the film with Bonne Radford, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa producing it.
The projected release for Smallfoot is September 28, 2018. Are you excited about this movie?
